Delfshaven en Scheepvaartkwartier
Historic cores that survived the 1940 bombing. Both are protected townscapes.
Kralingen-Midden en Heemraadssingel
Townhouses from around 1900. Typical work: full renovation, bathrooms and timber floors.
Blijdorp-Bergpolder en Noordereiland
Pre-war walk-ups, often with a homeowners’ association.
Tuindorp Vreewijk en Heijplaat
Garden suburbs with terraced houses, protected townscape. Clients here mostly want retrofit insulation and interior modernisation.
Zwaar werk op houten palen
A poured floor, a 300-litre bath or an extra storey adds a lot of weight. For homes from before 1970 we first check the Foundation Map and choose light solutions where needed, such as a dry floor build-up or a shower instead of a bath.
Rules when renovating in Rotterdam
Rotterdam heeft negen beschermde stadsgezichten en ruim 600 rijksmonumenten (CBS, 2019). Voor de beschermde gezichten gelden aanvullende welstandscriteria.

Subsidies and loans in Rotterdam

Insulation subsidy for single-family homes
Up to €2,000, or €2,200 for two or more measures. Conditions: owner-occupier, WOZ under €477,000, built in 1992 or earlier. Apply until end of 2027.

Subsidy for insulation, heat pumps and ventilation. Since 2026 you get €400 for ventilation, but only together with at least one insulation measure. For monuments, secondary glazing also counts.
